Need help with Voyager?
Start with the common questions below. If something is not working as expected, send us a message.
Why did Voyager block a link?
Scan and Focus are designed to stay within the site you intentionally opened. A link to an unrelated website may be blocked even when the link itself is legitimate.
Can Voyager be my default browser?
Not yet. Links you tap in other apps won’t open in Voyager. While Device Protection is on, links from other apps won’t open on their own while Safari is removed. Scan a code, or open the site from Focus or Emergency.
When should I use Emergency?
Use Emergency when you need broader web access and Scan or Focus cannot complete the task. Emergency is temporary and uses the duration and daily-session limits you chose ahead of time.
How do commitment delays work?
Changes that make Voyager less restrictive wait 24 hours before they take effect, or 7 days in Hardcore. Turning off Device Protection takes 30 days. Changes that make it more restrictive happen immediately. Your first setup is immediate.
What is Device Protection?
Device Protection is optional and included with your subscription. You turn it on yourself. It uses Apple Screen Time. While it is on, Safari is removed from your iPhone, and the App Store and new app installs are blocked. When Voyager isn’t on screen, websites in other apps’ built-in browsers are blocked too, except your Trusted Sites.
It isn’t a guarantee. Screen Time can be bypassed, and behavior can differ between iOS versions.
How do I turn off Device Protection?
Open Voyager, go to Settings › Device Protection, and tap Turn Off Device Protection…. Press and hold the button on the confirmation to start a 30-day wait. The wait is the same in Standard and Hardcore, and Voyager shows the date it ends. Until then, Device Protection stays on.
After that date, Voyager removes its Screen Time restrictions the next time you open it. Voyager needs to confirm the current time to start and to finish the wait, so it may ask you to connect to the internet. Changing the date on your iPhone or switching between Standard and Hardcore is not meant to shorten the wait.
You can cancel the request at any time before then with Cancel Request.
You don’t need an active subscription to turn Device Protection off. If your subscription has ended, the subscription screen links to Device Protection while it is on.
Someone I trust holds my Screen Time passcode. What can they do?
That is an Apple Screen Time feature, not part of Voyager. With the passcode they control Screen Time settings on your iPhone, including removing Voyager’s Screen Time access, which can stop Device Protection’s restrictions, and, if they set it up, whether apps can be deleted. Voyager can’t see or recover that passcode. If you lose touch with them, Apple’s Screen Time recovery options are the only way back, and that can be difficult.
What happens if my subscription ends?
When Apple confirms that your subscription has ended, for example because it expired or was refunded, Voyager removes its own Screen Time restrictions the next time you open it, and shows the subscription screen. Your Focus sites and Trusted Sites are kept. If you subscribe again, Device Protection stays off until you turn it on yourself.
If Voyager can’t confirm your subscription, for example while you’re offline, nothing changes. Connect to the internet and tap Check Subscription.
Turning off auto-renewal doesn’t change anything until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
Why does Voyager need Screen Time access?
Voyager needs Screen Time authorization to apply Device Protection. Without that permission, Voyager cannot enforce those system-level restrictions.
Why does Voyager need camera access?
Camera access is used by Scan to recognize QR codes. The permission is requested when you first use Scan.
Does Voyager receive my browsing history?
Voyager V1 does not operate a ModusBios server that receives your browsing history. Websites you visit can still receive information from your device under their own privacy policies.
How do I clear Focus and Scan website data?
Open Voyager Settings and use Clear Focus & Scan Website Data. This clears the shared persistent website data used by Focus and Scan without deleting your Focus list or commitment settings.
Can phone, email, messages, or maps links still work?
Voyager can allow supported system actions such as calls, email, messages, and maps when they are part of the task you are doing.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Voyager subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID and the App Store. Apple handles billing, renewals, and cancellation.
